Abstract:Right ventricular (RV) lead-related tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is one of the postoperative complications after implantation of cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIED), and the mechanisms whereby include the lead causing mechanical interference to the valve leaflets and RV pacing changing the sequence of contraction of the heart. Types and quantities of the lead, duration of lead placement, pacing position and atrial fibrillation are the risk factors for TR. Combining with the medical history, physical examination and auxiliary examination, we can make a definite diagnosis, and the treatment includes medication, lead reimplantation or extraction and surgery. In this article, we reviewed the recent literatures concerning RV lead-related TR.
